Kostas Rigatos was born in 1972 Athens Greece.

Working in Greece and United Kingdom,Eastbourne East sussex.

From the young age of twelve started taking photos with an old

Agfa Optima II after he discovered it in the loft of the family summer house.

Fascinated by the endless subjects of the Greek countryside that was able to find around him, combine with the immortal power of the photographic lens, took the bold decision that this is a field that he belongs.

Until the early twenties photography was a hobby to express his feelings, as the need for something more was always there and the subjects were getting more and more interesting as his life was developing, decided to put his self-educated knowledge to a professional level.

Focus –School of Art Photography, Video & New Technologies was the place that put in order his knowledge and passion as a photographer.

The two main mentors for his photography skills were

Takis Zerdevas and

Massimo Pizzocaro who opened a new optical angle and gave him the ability to see the world of photography through the endless resources of today’s technology.

Γεννήθηκα στην Αθήνα το 1972

Από νεαρή ηλικία ξεκίνησα να ασχολούμαι με τη φωτογραφία, όταν ανακάλυψα μια Agfa Optima II ξεχασμένη στο πατάρι του σπιτιού μας στην Κεφαλονιά,εντυπωσιασμένος από την ατελείωτη ελληνική ομορφιά,τα άπειρα θέματα προς φωτογράφιση που μου δινόντουσαν απλόχερα,και σε συνδυασμό με την δύναμη την αιωνιότητας που μου παρείχε ο φωτογραφικός φακός αποφάσισα ότι εδώ ανήκω.

Η φωτογραφία ήταν το χόμπι μου,με βοηθούσε να εκφράσω ο,τι ένιωθα.Το πάθος μου για κάτι περισσότερο με περιτριγύριζε καθημερινά καθώς οι ανάγκες μου για γνώση μεγάλωναν.

Έτσι λοιπόν αποφάσισα την αυτοδίδακτη γνώση που είχα ως τότε να την εξελίξω σε ένα επίπεδο μεγαλύτερο,και πιο σοβαρό. Η Focus –School of Art Photography,Video & New Technologies ήταν η σχολή που μου κίνησε το ενδιαφέρον για να μετατρέψω το χόμπι σε μια επαγγελματική γνώση.

Από τους κ Τάκη Ζερδεβα  και κ Massimo Pizzocaro διδάχτηκα τον κόσμο που μου παρέχει η φωτογραφία,καθώς και την δύναμη της δημιουργίας που προσφέρει,μέσα από τις ατελείωτες

δυνατότητες της νέας τεχνολογίας,τον σεβασμό και θαυμασμό για την παλιότερη.

Σήμερα,ακόμα εραστής της τέχνης,δουλεύω στην Ελλάδα και στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο (Eastbourne East sussex).
